The Maritime Centre is the only facility of its kind in Northern California – a centrally located facility with top vendors in the field in one convenient location, at the end of the historic Santa Fe Channel in Point Richmond. Boat repairs and\/or upgrades have never been easier. With multiple vendors on site, we are uniquely positioned to deliver the most efficient, one-stop-shop, boat repair experience on the San Francisco Bay.<\/p>\n
The Maritime Centre concept was born from a vision of KKMI boatyard owners, Paul and Chrissy Kaplan. Bit by the boating bug early in their courtship, they have owned a myriad of family boats. Most notable was the historic 1935 55\u2019 Santana. <\/em>After having sunk in her slip in 1997 and the insurance company offering her up for sale, the Kaplans took her on and launched a full restoration. Through that process they recognized that a boatyard alone didn\u2019t fulfill all the needs for boat owners in need of significant repairs. Hence, the concept for the Maritime Centre was born and Santana<\/em> was essentially her first customer.<\/p>\n Fast forward 27 years\u2026Paul finally saw his vision come into focus when he brought in Geli Burgin as the General Manager in 2022.\u00a0 The Maritime Centre was officially born, and the property continues to be transformed.<\/p>\n [\/et_pb_text][\/et_pb_column][\/et_pb_row][et_pb_row column_structure=”3_5,2_5″ _builder_version=”4.21.0″ _module_preset=”default” global_colors_info=”{}”][et_pb_column type=”3_5″ _builder_version=”4.21.0″ _module_preset=”default” global_colors_info=”{}”][et_pb_text _builder_version=”4.21.0″ background_size=”initial” background_position=”top_left” background_repeat=”repeat” use_border_color=”off” border_color=”#ffffff” border_style=”solid” global_colors_info=”{}”]<\/p>\n Our facility has eight tenants that specialize in:<\/p>\n While each of these benefits stand alone, we believe very strongly that our most important benefit is being good environmental stewards. Our foremost responsibility is to operate the facility in the most compliant, clean, and green manner possible. We have partnered with several regulatory agencies to ensure that we are meeting the most current standards for materials being used on the property, disposal of materials, and recycling.<\/p>\n The Maritime Centre\u2019s goal is to ensure that you and your boat are well taken care of, that the work you need to have done is performed as efficiently – and as a biproduct of that – as FROM THE SOUTH: <\/strong>Pass underneath the San Francisco\/Oakland Bay Bridge, keep the Berkeley Pier to starboard, proceed past the Southampton Shoal platform and in 1.5 nautical miles you will see a pylon with a “4” placard, from this point see the instructions below “From The Channel Entrance”.
FROM THE WEST:<\/strong> Pass under the Golden Gate Bridge, past Alcatraz Island leaving it to starboard, or pass through “Raccoon Straights”, head toward the pylon with a “4” placard, from this point see the instructions below, “From The Channel Entrance”.
FROM THE CHANNEL ENTRANCE:<\/strong> Pass between pylons \u201c4\u201d to starboard and \u201c5\u201d to port, heading approximately 85 degrees magnetic toward pylons \u201c8\u201d and \u201c12\u201d both on your starboard side. To port you will see the old shipyard docks (a.k.a. Point Potrero); steer to port as you pass these docks and head up the Harbor Channel, passing the Port of Richmond cranes to starboard and the Union 76 tanks to port. At the channel dog-leg you will see KKMI\u2019s beige domed shed in the distance. Proceed up the channel (mind the 5 mph speed limit) and tie up at a vacant dock space in KKMI\u2019s marina (please avoid the haul out slip). Welcome to the \u201cRichmond Riviera\u201d!
